for recognizing and promoting diversity, and more.

TOOL UP!
Web Applications for Novices & Pros

Many thanks to all who made our December 6, 2008 workshop a success. Workshop participants -- half from K-12 schools and half from universities -- explored many free sites and programs that improve the language teaching experience. Text, audio, video and many miscellaneous categories were covered. During the day it became clear that more such collaborative workshops are necessary, and as a result our department will be programming these in the near future. All our workshops bring Act 48 professional development credits to participants, and have very reasonable registration fees.
A product of this workshop was the establishment of an online community at http://tool-up.ning.com for those interested in using free/low-cost web applications and programs to improve language teaching. It is currently by invitation only. If you are interested in joining, please send an email to Jeff Ruth (jruth@esu.edu) with your request. This site may be opened up to the general public in the future.
